Shanna Angel, CRNA, Baptiste Power Vinyasa Teacher in Training.
Be prepared to sweat, work hard, and break through! Linking poses together in powerful, balanced, and flowing sequences, Shanna teaches yoga with intent and compassion. She creates a positive, challenging, and friendly class environment where you are encouraged to explore your edge, discover your strength, and awaken your spirit.
A former World Champion Cyclist, Shanna began a personal yoga practice in 1996 to help with sports performance. When it was time to retire from cycling, her yoga practice fell through the cracks. As happens with many cyclists, she soon began to put on weight and became depressed. Last year when she began to realize that she was on a downward spiral, she turned back to yoga. Baron Baptiste’s book, Journey into Power, helped her get back on track with a yoga practice, and it wasn’t long before she knew that she had found the style of yoga that she would practice and teach - Power Vinyasa. Soon, she was off to New York to take a Yoga Workshop from Baron himself. Upon return from her first session, she told her husband that she wanted to open a yoga studio, thinking that it would benefit the community and that it would further her understanding of yoga. To her surprise he said “OK, let’s do it.” Three Months later they owned a building in downtown Morton and began construction of the new studio.
Shanna has now completed Level 2 Baptiste Teacher Training, and is continuing on the path of becoming a fully certified Baptiste instructor.
Her enthusiasm for yoga is apparent from the first time that you meet her, and she loves to facilitate each of her student’s discovery and progress in yoga.
When not working at her studio, Shanna is a Nurse Anesthetist. Her other loves in life are good cooking, good gardening, playing the piano and golden retrievers. She lives in the foothills of Mt. Rainier with her husband, daughter, and dogs.
